LANGUAGE AND CULTURAL ORIENTATION SERVICES

Days and time of class
Days: From Monday through Friday
Time: 9 am to 8 pm.
Types of Classes
- Regular classes
- 1 hour at least twice a week between 9 am and 8 pm
This one-hour class is a group class having a minimum number of three students.
- 2 hours any day between 9 am and 8 pm.
This class has a minimum number of three students.
- Intensive classes: 3 to 4 hours any day between 9 am and 8 pm.
A minimum number of three students is required for this program to be operational.
- Immersion Classes
- These practical classes are offered at all levels; they last four hours a day for 3 to 5 consecutive days (3 days for beginners after 9 weeks of training and 5 days for both intermediate and advanced students).
- A minimum number of four students is required in order to run this program.
- Survival Classes
These are special classes offered, for their linguistic and cultural survival purposes, to people who are about to travel to a given foreign country for one reason or another. The training will specifically the essential aspects of everyday life in the host culture (Food ordering, hotel room booking, asking directions, financial transactions/banking, airport, immigration, police station, shopping, cultural shock, … The minimum number of students admissible for this class is three and the maximum is ten.

Note that there is no student’s admission after one week of class unless you prove, after a placement test, that you can join a class level and move smoothly at everybody’s learning pace.
A $50.00 non-refundable enrolment fee (cash and check only) must be paid on the day you take your level placement test or at the latest on the first day of class. The fee covers the handouts, copied materials, certificate, placement and evaluation tests,…

Levels
Beginning, Elementary, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate, Post-intermediate and Advanced. The candidate is supposed to complete an average of 36 hours for moving from one level to another.
Schedule
It is flexible. We do take into consideration the candidate’s availability whenever our operational schedule allows it.
Credit/refund System
There is neither refund nor making up any missed class. It is your duty to take notes from one of your classmates or copy the lesson page(s) you missed. We would be more than happy to provide a brief explanation of the missed class(es). The good news is that our instructors always make a flashback by reviewing the previous lesson(s) to make sure the students understood it before they can move to the next section. Students who decide to withdraw cannot be refunded after the first day of class. Therefore, we advice you to plan accordingly prior to making your payment.
Class Size
Classes are kept as small as possible in order to maximize the interactions and facilitate a quick and quality training.
Teaching strategies
Direct and functional approaches; emphasis on the speaking-listening skills; specialized training geared towards the student’s specific objectives.
Level evaluation
It is administered to students completing a level and moving to a higher one .
Training duration
The trainee has to complete an average of 36 hours for each level.
Attendance
Attendance forms are filled out to monitor the student’s regularity.
Certificate of Accomplishment
It is issued to any student who ends a given language level training with 70% attendance.
II. TRANSLATING, DRAFTING, EDITING, REVISING, CORRECTING
The above services are provided for letters, flyers, leaflets, pamphlets, brochures, certificates, diplomas, degrees, wills, contracts, leases, documents, books, etc…)
We offer general, scientific and technical translation services. Accurate work is achieved in current, semi-technical and technical language. We also correct, revise and edit and draft different types of document.
III. INTERPRETATION
We offer traditional interpretation services in different areas such as interviews, interrogations, medical information collecting, seminars, crusades, evangelization campaigns, meetings, court cases, and the like.
IV. SOCIO-CULTURAL ORIENTATION CLASSES
This one-day training aims at equipping incoming and outgoing people with socio-cultural information for a much smoother adaptation to and integration into the host cultural community. It is provided to missionaries, immigrants, refugees and businessmen. It is a real panacea to the cultural shock challenge most people face out of their own speech community. Call or e-mail us in advance and we will plan accordingly.
